August Photo a Day Challenge

I don't have instagram, but I am always experimenting with my new camera, so I decided to do the August Instagram Photo a Day Challenge!

I found the challenge here. It looks like each month's challenge is posted a few days before!

I'm pretty excited about this! I'm planning to post my photos weekly. Join the fun and let me know you're doing the challenge too so I can check out your photos :)

Pizza, Popcorn and....Alfredo Sauce

Typically on Sunday nights, we have youth activities with the teens from church.
We have an awesome little group :)

Last Sunday we made personal pizzas...

The pizza sauce we used had soy in it, so I couldn't eat it. Luckily, I had just made alfredo sauce!

I love this recipe! You can find it here. It was amazing on pizza!

I also made caramel popcorn using the recipe my friend Anna taught me during college. I wasn't sure if it would be a success, but the teens devoured it!!

Here is the recipe...

2 sticks butter
2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp baking soda
3- 3 oz. bags of plain popcorn

Preheat oven to 200°. Heat the butter, brown sugar, salt, and corn syrup in a sauce pan to a boil for about 5 minutes. (I've done it in the microwave too, but I tend to cause explosions that way.) Stir in baking soda. Make sure all ingredients are mixed thoroughly. Pour over popped popcorn in a large bowl, and mix all together. With this much, I usually mix in 2 groups. Spread the mixture onto a cookie sheet coated with parchment paper. Bake for 1 hour stirring every 15 minutes. It takes a few minutes to cool off. Enjoy!

For next week, I am looking for shish kabob recipes :P

A Few of My Favorite Things

Here are just a few things I have enjoyed this past week...

1. Spending time near water...finally!

One thing I have missed while I've been in Utah is the beach! I was so excited to visit the Tropic Reservoir and just see a little water :)

2. Blue and yellow...together.

3. My little black hair bow.

Speaking of bows...

This is my attempt at the Hair Bow How-to from Hair and Make-up by Steph. Such an adorable idea!

4.Flip Flops.

Wearing flip flops just make my feet so happy...especially this week with a blister on my pinky toe! :P

What are you loving this summer?

Summer Adventures

This summer has been the time of my life! Its hard to believe I only have three weeks left in Utah. Here is just a little recap of what I've been up to....

Visiting Old Bryce Town...

They have the coolest rock shop there!

I am just amazed at God's creativity...even in a bunch of rocks! This is petrified wood--definitely unaffordable ;) I can't wait to go back and buy some little stones for my brother's rock collection! Some of them are so intricate...perfect to make jewelry??

Wes just has a way of making my little dreams come true...

He took me to a hot air balloon festival early in the morning...

We got to help set one up to take off!

I was pretty excited about that :)

Then the man we were helping told us to sign a waiver and hop in!

And we went UP!!!!

It was breathtaking and perfect! Not a morning I will ever forget :)

Showing friends around Bryce....

I got to meet Wesley's friends Brad and Blair! We had a great time touring the view points in Bryce. This is the best view in the park, Bryce Point. I love how we all matched ;)

Here we are at the highest point: Rainbow Point. It's over 9100 ft. It was a little windy up there :P

Visiting the camp Wes grew up going to...

We went to family camp at Camp Utibaca. It was awesome to finally see the place where so many of Wesley's childhood memories took place!

My friend Hannah came with us! I did so many new things....

*repelled off the climbing wall *shot a gun *rode a horse * four-wheel driving up the mountain*

Well, that's all for now :) Needless to say, I LOVE summertime!
